My artwork is ever-evolving as I am continually fascinated by the variety of results obtained from exploring new adaptations and combinations of different mediums. I am challenged to take pieces of metal, stone and glass and transform them from their cold, hard state into something warm, mysterious and organic.
The sculpture techniques I use include kiln firing, slumping, torch firings, cutting, acid baths, hand thrown and sifted enameling, wet enamel painting, folding and hammering; all of which result in some exciting and serendipitous pieces; including abstract wall sculptures, free-standing mixed-media sculptures, and hammered pewter torsos.
My goal is to engage the viewer to be moved by the work so that it may evoke a small yet timeless connection to the universe; I am simply rearranging what already exists.
