Making collages is my passion. It’s my
sanity.
Photography and painting started it for me. I enjoyed both separately, and I
merged them together. I find images from old Magazines, family snapshots, found
paper; old maps, wallpaper, books and I blend them with washes of paint and
spray paint. I want to tell a story of the past.
From the beginning the process of transforming the images to something more
struck me as reconnecting the old with the new. My infatuation with the past
helps me unite the work together. I want to bring out the history of the paper,
show this generation what it may have been like then.
I connect my life to my work; I use my emotions, thoughts, song lyrics, phrases
from books, and things that get stick in my head. I bring that together with my
art. My art is recording and releasing my feelings out into the world.
